Directions:
-
Season the Chicken:
Sprinkle and rub the chicken breasts with seasoning salt. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to let the flavors infuse. -
Cook the Bacon:
While the chicken chills, cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon and set aside. Do not discard the bacon grease. -
Sear the Chicken:
Sauté the chicken breasts in the reserved bacon grease for 3 to 5 minutes on each side, or until lightly browned. Transfer to a 9×13-inch baking dish. -
Make the Honey Mustard Sauce:
In a small bowl, combine mustard, honey, mayonnaise, and dried onion flakes. Stir until smooth and well-blended. -
Assemble the Dish:
Spoon the honey mustard sauce generously over each piece of chicken. Top with sliced mushrooms (if using), crumbled bacon, and shredded cheese. -
Bake:
Place in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the chicken is cooked through. -
Serve & Enjoy:
Serve warm with your favorite sides—this dish pairs wonderfully with roasted potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh green salad.
